
In electrical resistivity imaging, survey design matters. When multiple surveys are needed along the same transect, rather than starting the next one at the end of the first (as seen in the first image below), it’s critical to overlap the surveys to produce accurate, defensible data.
Each GeoTrax Survey™ image is inherently trapezoidal in geometry. Without overlap, the edges of adjacent survey segments suffer from signal loss and resolution gaps. This gap in data collection leads to potential misinterpretation of structural controls or contaminant pathways (see third image below).
